Visual Appearance and Stylesheets [ii]

• A special stylesheet language, XSL, was conceived to support the new features of XML.
  • Two parts:
    • XSL-T, the Transformation language
      • I've described this above
    • XSL-FO, formatting objects
      • A comprehensive language for descibing the fine detail of document presentation.
      • Produces prolix, semantically impoverished markup.
      • Not supported by any client yet.
      • Really a stylesheet language...
      • Of doubtful value.
