Thought & Memory: a novel by Simon Brooke

This is an unfinished novel. Like all my fiction, it deals with themes of sex, violence and religion. Broadly, Thought and Memory can be seen as an historical novel, but it isn't strictly so. On internal evidence you could date it either to the middle of the ninth or to the end of the tenth century. The geography is also a bit dodgy. I'm not really concerned about this: I'm not really writing about history, but about people and ideas.

It's unfinished because what I'm trying to do with it is essentially beyond my present skill as a writer; I can't make the ending work in a way that satisfies me. I hope that in it's present state it will be satisfying to some readers, and will be grateful for feedback and suggestions.
