In the Autumn of 1995 I founded Intelligent Realtime Internet Systems Ltd with Bertram Evers. The company, in which I have a 49% stake, was set up to develop server end tools for Web-sites, and, under my technical direction, specialised in Web-database integration. During my fifteen months with the company I was responsible for projects for Dumfries and Galloway Enterprise, Dumfries and Galloway Tourist Board and Edinburgh and Lothians Tourist Board.
The company has traded satisfactorily throughout this period; it made a comfortable profit on it's first year, and has never had any indebtedness, despite growing from two to six full-time employees during the period. However, a sharp and increasing difference in business styles within the management team had, by February of 1997, made my position as minority shareholder untenable, and I resigned my directorship on the 8th February 1997.
